Responsibility for Eddies Death Essay -- A View from the Bridge Arthu
Responsibility for Eddies DeathIn a View from the bridge, Beatrice illustrates her views clearly onrecent events by facial expression on scalawag 61. Whatever happened, we all doit, and dont you forget it Catherine. She is stating that everyonecontributed significantly to what has happened in one manner or another. On page 4, Alfieris view of settling for half, is different to theway he says it on page 64. On page 64 he says, Most of the time wesettle for half. He has differentiated the two words now andmost. This is because he has seen Eddie become a dupe of his ownculture and seen the way he respects the Code of Conduct. Alfieri hasreason from that, that the best way is not to settle for half allthe time. merely Most of the time we settle for half and I like itbetter. Both Beatrice and Alfieri drop illustrated their views however, theirviews on recent events contrast to each other significantly. We are introduced to the scratch line key scene where we find Eddiesreaction to Cat herines communication channel offer, You cant take no job, why didntyou ask me before taking on a job? This is clearly showing Eddiesinsecurity and doesnt want her to gain any liberty anotherreason for this reaction is he doesnt want her to get a boyfriend viaher new job. This scene has created a sense of tension collectable to highlevels of jealousy surrounding the conversation. Also, Eddie believesthat the man should be the provider and the charr does the housework. This prepares the audience for many more scenes similar to this asEddies reaction is Brobdingnagian compared to the situation. Therefore, theremay be chances of his jealousy taking over and spiralling turn discover ofcontrol. When Marco and Rodolpho arrive from Ital... ..., this could have helped diffuse the situation in a way so thenat least everyones true feelings would have been out in the open.Marco was at fault for what happened at the end of the play was heprovoked the situation at eh end of the play by say ing that hewouldnt give Eddie back his name, and causing a great lease of tensionin the household in the boxing scene. Catherine was remotely accountable for Eddies death at the end of the play by getting convoluted with Rodolpho too early and against Eddies will and so itlead to Eddie snitching on Rodolpho and Marco.Rodolpho was responsible as he got involved with Catherine and didntask Eddie for permission in the stolon place, that is regarded as asensible thing for a gentleman to do. step to the fore of both quotations made by Beatrice and Alfieri I think thatBeatrices quote summed up the truth of the play.
