Commentary on poem afterward The FloodThe poem After The Flood has a slow and stiff tempo. Line19-20 is a simile where the flowing river is c ompared to a beast thatis sneak around. It is referred as beast as it had created amassive destruction to the dress and has ruined everybodys mood.
